Right ‘Tactic?’

Locals will be using Tactic at Goodwood today!
Trained by John Dunlop at nearby Arundel this rapidly-improving Hamdan al Maktoum-owned colt looks a solid bet for the group two Goodwood Cup; nigh on five weeks ago Tactic followed up an unchallenged Knavesmire rout by defeating top Irish stayer, Profound Beauty, at The Curragh.
It’s difficult to imagine any of eleven rivals beating this ‘new kid on the (staying) block!’
Hayley Turner rides The Betchworth Kid; it’s her only booking but ‘daily earner’ has three at Epsom where Defector is fancied for the eight-runner mile handicap. If all run William Muir’s charge should be backed each-way but, make sure they do!

Give Your Verdict at Nottingham where it will be a deal quieter?
Just a few wil frequent Colwick Park but a pound there will be the equivalent of the same at ‘Glorious’ and much easier to acquire by virtue of backing this vexing Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt, runner-up in his last three races.
Consistency usually gains it reward and though both Forever Hope and Supa Seeker can’t be discounted it’s unlikely they will extend, never mind beat, Give The Verdict.
‘Last chance saloon’ however and if we don’t get the ‘Verdict’ this time…!

Scantily Clad might just upset better-fancied rivals in the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over six furlongs; her debut effort, earlier this month, was promising.
Sixth of nine over course and distance doesn’t impact immediately but Scantily Clad was beaten only six lengths and shaped well under Richard Mullen.
On this occasion Robert Winston takes over, that’s a bonus.
Obviously any one of several newcomers could be useful but, at decent odds, it seems worthwhile chancing Scantily Clad, each-way.

Selection, Goodwood, 3.25 Tactic; Epsom, 7.35 Defector (e.w); Nottingham, 2.0 Scantily Clad (nap-e.w); 4.20 Give Your Verdict.
